Carnival Season is here, and we want to make sure you have the best (and most stress-free) experience possible. As the city prepares for the "Super Week" leading up to Mardi Gras Day on Tuesday, February 17 , here are some essential logistics for your stay:

1. ⏰ Important Schedule Update The city has changed the start times for the Thursday night parades (Feb 12) . Chaos, Babylon, and Muses will now start at 4:30 PM —an hour earlier than previous years. Make sure to head out early if you want to catch Muses’ famous hand-decorated shoes!

2. �� Getting Around (The "Pro" Way)

Avoid Driving: Parking in the French Quarter and along parade routes is nearly impossible and very expensive.
Use the Apps: Download the LePass app for real-time RTA bus and streetcar tracking. Streetcars will have limited service once parades start rolling (usually stopping 2 hours before the first float).
Blue Bikes: If you’re feeling active, the city’s bike-share program is a great way to navigate the road closures. Just don't lock bikes to parade barricades!

3. ��️ Safety & Comfort

The "Mardi Gras Uniform": Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty. Layers are key—New Orleans weather can swing from 50°F to 75°F in a single afternoon.

But if you travel in a motorhome or 5th wheel, the idea of navigating New Orleans during Carnival season can be intimidating. You might be asking: Where can I park my big rig? Is it safe? How do I get to the French Quarter without driving my truck?

While Fat Tuesday is on February 17, 2026 , the party starts long before that.

The "Deep Weekend" (Feb 13–15) : This is when the biggest "Super Krewes" roll, including Endymion and Bacchus.
